HBDHB Board chair delighted to see familiar faces around board table
Chair of Hawke’s Bay District Health Board, Kevin Atkinson, said he was delighted to hear this morning that the results of the board election had shown community endorsement of the direction the Board has been taking over the past three years by re-electing seven existing board members.
“Having familiar faces around the board table will provide continuity and stability.
“I would also like to acknowledge the unsuccessful candidates, many whom would have brought valuable skills and expertise to the board,” Kevin Atkinson said.
The candidates who have been elected are:
James Peter DUNKERLEY Diana Geraldine KIRTON David Wallace MARSHALL David Hugh Coverdale DAVIDSON Joan Wright SYE David William RITCHIE Helen Ethel WALKER
“While it’s disappointing no-one from Wairoa, or no Maori candidates elected, there will be up three additional Ministerial appointments to the Board which will be announced prior to December 5th .
Mr Atkinson said he was particularly pleased to see the two candidates from Central Hawke’s Bay re-elected under the STV election process.
Kevin Atkinson was reappointed to the position of board chair by the Minister of Health in October this year. His appointment is for a three-year term.
Hawke’s Bay District Health board chief executive officer, Chris Clarke said he was absolutely delighted with the results, and looked forward to continuing to work with the board who were committed to the vision of Hawke’s Bay having the healthiest families in New Zealand.
