Strike threat removed
The Resident Doctor’s Association has withdrawn its threat of strike action. Spokesperson for the DHBs Jean O’Callaghan is happy there’s been enough progress for the RDA to lift the strike notice.
Ms O’Callaghan says the focus of the talks now is concluding a settlement. No details of the negotiations will be discussed publicly.
She says contingency planning is being put on hold and she’s hopeful a settlement can be concluded next week. Ms O’Callaghan says the good thing is that patient safety and hospital services will not be disrupted.
