Nurses Organisation Membership At All Time High
"The New Zealand Nurses Organisation is stronger than ever with membership levels at their highest in our 95 year history," said NZNO president Jane O’Malley today, on the eve of the organisation’s national annual conference in Rotorua.
NZNO has 36,500 members and membership has grown 1500 over the past 12 months.
Over 200 members of the Nurses Organisation are gathering in Rotorua for the two-day conference around the theme – “Nursing the System Back to Health”.
“New Zealanders know that nurses are the backbone of our health system,” said Jane O’Malley.
“Our health system will not be in good health until nurses are truly valued with fair pay and safe staffing levels.”
Jane O’Malley will address the conference tomorrow morning after a keynote speech from Associate Health Minister Damien O’Conner.
