Solution Likely For Hospital Registrar
Christchurch hospital General Manager Jim Magee is hopeful that a positive solution will be found to enable surgical
registrar Sophie Bayliss to go to Afghanistan and still retain her job at the hospital on her return.
The hospital is pursuing a possible position that would enable a registrar to be engaged to fill the gap left by Dr
Bayliss.
‘We have been very supportive of Dr Bayliss’ territorial activities and enabled her to attend her regular training
courses.’
Mr Magee said he would know next week whether another surgical registrar would be available.
