Sale Of Hanmer Surplus Land Approved
The Minister of Health Hon Annette King has approved the sale of CDHB’s surplus land at Hanmer.
Making the announcement at the CDHB Board meeting today, the Chief Executive Jean O’Callaghan said the Minister’s approval had come through this week.
A public consultation process was carried out last year and the recommendation for the land sale went to the Minister earlier this year. The land comprised 15.5 hectares of land on the site formerly known as Queen Mary hospital.
The hospital had been sold as a going concern in 1997 but not the land or the buildings.
The CDHB has yet to decide when the land will be sold.
