Proven performance to improve laboratory productivity
Bayer HealthCare Diagnostics Raises the Bar in Laboratory Testing
Bayer Healthcare’s Diagnostics division has raised the bar in laboratory testing with the launch of the ADVIA 2120 haematology system.
The new system builds on the technology of the ADVIA 120, a popular system in many of New Zealand’s hospital and private laboratories.
Customer relations manager for Bayer New Zealand Diagnostics, Kylie Head, says there has been a great deal of interest in the new ADVIA 2120.
“The system has fully automated testing capability for some of the most labour intensive tests in the world such as cerebral spinal fluid analysis, reticulocytes for monitoring anemia as well as the commonly requested complete blood account. “The result is a reduction in manual tests and costly repeats, which in turn leads to an improved service for physicians.”
Ms Head says the new ADVIA also has innovations such as internal verification of every sample, by comparing the results using two different methodologies, ensuring confidence in test results.
“Such features provide unique quality control not seen in other routine haematology analyzers – aiding physicians in diagnosis and treatment of various haematological disorders such as leukemia, platelet anomalies and red cell abnormalities,” she says. MORE… Later this year Bayer plans to expand its practical automation solution for haematology with the introduction of the ADVIA® Autoslide. MultiSpecies software is also being developed for the ADVIA 2120 which will allow laboratory testing for veterinary and research laboratories.
