Motherwell offers free seminars for Mothers-to-Be and New Mothers
Women in Auckland have a new alternative in ante and post-natal healthcare with the launch of 'Mother-Well', providing
a range of natural therapies and support to mothers-to-be and new mothers.
Mother-Well was founded by Morella Lascurain, medical doctor and mum of one, and Rebekah Paddy, naturopath, medical
herbalist and mother of twins.
Together Morella and Rebekah have drawn on their experiences as mothers and health practitioners to create a centre that
offers a range of complementary health services to assist women to optimise their health and that of their babies.
They are also dedicated to educate and empower mothers by helping them understand the innate changes they will
experience at each stage of pregnancy and in the first year of motherhood and providing them the tools for a better
adaptation to their new life.
Working alongside Morella and Rebekah are the Mother-Well consultants - health practitioners who offer a range of
healthcare services such as nutritional advice, counselling, herbal support, homeopathy, acupuncture, pregnancy and
postnatal massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, natural skin care and image advice and a variety of seminars and talks.
Mother-Well will host a series of free public seminars over the next months. The first of these will be with Maria
Middlestead, a well known nutrition consultant, educator and author. Maria will be talking about the influence of
antenatal nutrition on a baby's future health on Wednesday, May 5 at 7.30pm.
Mother-Well co-founder Rebekah Paddy will speak at the second free seminar discussing natural tools that can be used to
ease the process of childbirth, on Wednesday, May 12 at 7.30pm. Both seminars will be held at the Grey Lynn Community
Centre and can be booked by writing to bookings@mother-well.co.nz or by calling Mother-Well on (09) 360 60 16 or Morella
on 021 796453.
