Smart 'Moove' By Anchor To Combat Nation's Health Issues
Anchor today (Monday, 8 September), launches two new 'smart' milks, developed to combat three very real threats to the nation's health; obesity, heart disease and osteoporosis.
With almost 70% of New Zealanders having blood cholesterol above the recommended level[1], and obesity becoming an increasingly prevalent health concern for adults and children, Anchor's two 'smart' milks, Mega Milk and Heart Wise, will add a much-needed nutritional punch to the Kiwi diet.
Mega Milk is a calcium-packed, fresh milk that's 97.5% fat free. It also contains vitamins A and D to aid calcium absorption. Mega Milk offers a low fat, healthy alternative to sugary drinks for children and teenagers, at an age when calcium consumption is crucial for healthy bone development.
Heart Wise is a low cholesterol, fresh milk that's 99% fat free, with added calcium and Omega-3, which is known to help maintain a healthy heart. Heart Wise is approved by the National Heart Foundation and carries the tick.
Both Mega Milk and Heart Wise are supported by one of the country's leading health and sports dietitians, Jeni Pearce.
"I'm thrilled to see these two new products on the market to address these very serious health issues facing Kiwis. Both milks have reduced saturated fats, which will assist our obesity problems while improving our calcium intakes," says Jeni Pearce.
Justine Grebenar, group brand manager for New Zealand Dairy Foods, comments "Anchor has developed these 'smart' milks because we're seriously committed to providing low fat, low cholesterol, high calcium and vitamin rich milk options. Mega Milk and Heart Wise are milks that fit into our busy lifestyles, whilst offering a real health bonus and tasting great."
Hitting stores and schools throughout the country from today, Anchor Mega Milk is available in 300ml singles serves, 1L tetra packs and 2L bottles. Anchor Heart Wise is available in 1L tetra packs.
