NZNO Negotiations
The Chief Executive of the Canterbury District Health Board, Jean O’Callaghan today expressed disappointment at the lack of progress made to date following a round of negotiations and subsequent mediation talks between the Board and the New Zealand Nurses Organisation.
‘It is very disappointing that a settlement has not been reached after seven days of negotiations including three full days of mediation. We believe we have substantially delivered on the nurses’ claims and throughout the negotiations we have had a genuine willingness to look for ways to resolve any differences.’
Mrs O’Callaghan said she hoped that meetings between the NZNO and their members to be held next week would have a positive outcome.
There will be a meeting next week with the mediator Walter Grills.
