Allied Health Professionals at ODHB ratify Collective Agreement
Close to 500 PSA members employed as Allied Health Professionals have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a proposed
settlement negotiated between the PSA and ODHB, PSA Organiser Rex Askerud said today.
The settlement, which covers allied health professionals, mental health and technical services, was reached after
protracted negotiations including two rounds of mediation.
PSA members had undertaken industrial action by working to rule, and banning overtime and the filling out of forms and
recording of statistics before they achieved an acceptable settlement.
Rex Askerud said it was a difficult and at times disappointing process to get to the point of agreement.
“However the result was worth it and I congratulate members and, in particular, the negotiating team, for making it
possible. Now it’s time to get on with building a constructive and principled relationship with ODHB”.
The new Collective Agreement runs from April 2003 through to August 2004 and includes a pay increase and other
improvements.
