Jason Hollingworth on Board with RNZFB
Mr Jason Hollingworth has joined the Board of the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind.
His appointment follows the resignation of Mr Jonathan Mosen from the Board of Directors in June. Mr Hollingworth was
the next highest polling candidate in the May election for Board members. He comes to the Foundation with extensive
experience in financial management and company governance.
Mr Hollingworth is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Sky Network Television Ltd and holds a
Master of Commerce with First Class Honours in Accountancy.
Announcing the new appointment, RNZFB Chairman, Mr Don McKenzie expressed his pleasure that a person of Mr
Hollingworth’s calibre, commercial knowledge and experience is joining the Foundation’s board.
“We look forward to Jason’s active involvement with the Foundation as we enter a new era of growth and development for
our members, particularly as Jason brings a parent’s perspective to the Board.
“With the additional impetus of Jason’s experience and drive I believe the future will be very exciting,” said Mr
McKenzie.
Mr Hollingworth is looking forward to working with other Board members and the senior management team on the strategic
direction of the Foundation.
“I would like to apply my skills to ensure everything possible is done to increase the level of funding received by the
Foundation and to improve access to these resources for members.
“As a parent of a blind child, I am aware of the daily challenges faced by the blind community. There can be few
positions that are as rewarding as working for the Foundation, helping to make a difference for members,” said Mr
Hollingworth.
The RNZFB has over 12, 000 members nation-wide and relies heavily on public donations and corporate sponsorships to fund
its services that assist blind and sight impaired New Zealanders to keep their independence and overcome the challenges
of sight loss in their lives.
