Sharemilkers Ask Santa For Contest Entries
Organisers of the New Zealand Sharemilker of the Year want Santa to deliver them a sack full of entries.
National Convenor Chris Keeping says entries in the national competition close two weeks early this year on January 15.
“We are conscious that this may surprise some sharemilkers, who may still be recovering from Christmas and New Year celebrations when entries close.
“If they are lucky enough to get away from the farm for a break during this period, that could provide an opportune time to consider and complete their entry.”
Ms Keeping says a $100 voucher from RD1 is still available as an incentive to the first 200 entries in the competition.
She says entries are closing earlier this year to give judges more time to consider the entries and co-ordinate the judging programme.
“We want the judging process to be as fair and considered as possible - closing entries earlier will enable that.”
The New Zealand Sharemilker of the Year is run in association with Federated Farmers and is sponsored by Ravensdown, Dairy InSight, RD1, ACC, Bank of New Zealand, Livestock Improvement, Ecolab, Blue Wing Honda, Dexcel and Fonterra.
Entry forms are available from Federated Farmers freephone 0800 327 646, through www.fencepost.com or from organisers.
