Powerball jackpotted to a mega $11,232,824 on 30th November 2002, this amount combined with the 1st division Lotto prize of $250,000 created a combined total of $11,482,824 the first time this has occurred in the history of the game.
The winner claimed the ticket in the Commission’s Head Offices in Wellington and wishes to remain anonymous but has said they will give 10 percent of their winnings to charity.
The New Zealand Lotteries Commission respects the winner’s intention to remain anonymous and is pleased to have had the ticket claimed.
