Lane Reduction on The Strand
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of changes to traffic lanes on The Strand from now until November 2002.
The Strand has been reduced to a single lane in each direction between Ronayne Street and Ngaoho Place. On-street parking on The Stand in the vicinity of the works has been removed and it is not possible to turn right from The Strand into Ronayne Street.
These changes have been made to allow for the construction of a 2.3-meter diameter stormwater pipe and a 7.5-meter by 8-meter stormwater chamber on The Strand.
Minor delays to southbound traffic are expected, and Transit recommends motorists use alternative routes. There will be further changes to lane arrangements as work progresses. All changes will be clearly sign-posted.
Transit thanks all road users for their co-operation and apologises for any inconvenience.
