Todd Grants Benefit New Zealand Youth
New Zealand’s young people will benefit from $385,800 funding of 15 organisations providing youth-related services
announced by the Todd Foundation today.
The grants are part of the Foundation’s first funding round for 2002 which total $584,000, including four Todd Centenary
Awards and six annual Scholarship Awards for Excellence.
“Through the General Fund, we have again focused on programmes that promote education, and enhance the health and
wellbeing of our young people,” said the Chairman of the Foundation, John Todd. The Foundation will have a second
funding round for general grants later in the year.
Four Todd Centenary Awards have also been announced for the year:
- $40,000 to the 2020 Communication Trust to develop multilingual training resources for Computers-In-Homes families.
- $40,000 to the Eastwoodhill Trust to develop a new visitor centre, refreshment area and office complex for
Eastwoodhill Arboretum.
- $40,000 to the Kidz Hotel Trust, Wellington, towards a new accommodation and learning facility for children visiting
New Zealand's capital city.
- $30,000 to the Order of St John, Central Region, towards the purchase of two defibrillators for their Palmerston North
ambulance service.
The Foundation has also announced its annual Scholarship Awards for Excellence. A total of $48,400 has been awarded to
six graduates for projects in Ecological Studies, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering - Medical, Structural
Engineering - Earthquake Research, Animal Science and Conservation - Native Forests.
