Media are reminded that Constable A has been granted name suppression until noon tomorrow (19 October 2001), following his appearance in the New Plymouth District Court this morning.
On 19 October, Media organisations should check with Media Relations staff in the Office of the Police Commissioner to establish the status of this suppression order before proceeding with any potential identification of Constable A.

Lawyers acting for Constable A will be appealing the judges name suppression order.
