Continuing to break down the barriers to participation will be a key objective of the new Regional Manager Waitaki, Otago Southland for national disability organisation
New Zealand CCS.
Sarah Kalmakoff will be responsible for CCS branches in the region and working with organisations across all fields of business, government and sports and recreation towards inclusion of people with disabilities.
“Our aim is to continue to build stronger relationships with decision-makers so that the needs of people with disabilities are automatically included in services across the board - from building plans, to tertiary training, employment programmes to ACC,” says Ms Kalmakoff.
She has had lengthy work experience in health and disability. Past positions include: Principal Psychologist, Department of Corrections; Operations Services Manager, Inland Revenue; Area Manager HealthCare Otago and Regional Advisor Rehabilitation ACC.
Key career themes have included marketing, strategic and business planning and networking across a wide variety of public and private sector groups.
“I am very much looking forward to the challenge of levelling the playing field for people with disabilities in all social, economic and physical environments in Waitaki, Otago and Southland,” she says.
“However I’m particularly looking forward to the rewards that comes with watching people succeed personally and professionally, way beyond their expectations.”
