The NetForum2000 Conference is being held from Tuesday 3 - Saturday 7 October at the Novotel Tainui, Hamilton. It is the
first joint conference of Uniforum (17th Annual Conference) and ISOCNZ (5th Annual Conference)
Around 100 attendees are expected to attend the conference which is the foremost residential user group conference in
New Zealand.

The keynote international speaker is Elizabeth Zwicky, a director at Counterpane Internet Security - a managed security
services company. She has been doing large-scale system administration and security for 15 years, and is one of the
authors of the O'Reilly book "Building Internet Firewalls", now in its second edition. She is delivering a tutorial on
Wednesday 4 October and a paper on Friday 6 October at 1530hours.
The closing keynote address will be asking the question whether New Zealand is to be an amusement park for the Developed
North or a Global Knowledge Economy Player. Professor Howard Frederick, an authority in the field of global
communications, economic development and new technologies plus the author of New Zealand's 1999 Knowledge Economy Report
will present his views on this.
The conference will also receive reports on the latest developments in global Internet governance with regards to ICANN.
