Residents are now being called to a community planting day at Thomson Park, Marine Parade, on Saturday 2 September at 1pm.
Just yesterday it was announced that the day would be on 26 March but that
was postponed overnight.
The Christchurch City Council's Coast Care is holding the day to start planting along the Marine Parade border of the park where old macrocarpa trees have been removed.
Coast Care staff will on hand to give advice about planting and all residents need to take are spades and gumboots.
Trees to be planted will include cabbage trees, silver tussock, akeake, tauhinu, mikimiki, pingao, matagouri, and sand and coastal caprosmas.
