Blakie Inquiry To Hand Property Back

Published: Tue 27 Jun 2000 11:44 AM
Police should complete the search of a property at Port Hills Road today, says Blakie Inquiry head, Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Read.
The property was entered by Police last week, Thursday 20 June, to confirm if Lisa had been there between 2 – 6 February. Specialist searchers, finger print officers and ESR staff have been there all week examining it.
“The search will be completed today and the property cleaned by professional cleaners, who will return it to the state it was in when Police first took possession of it,” says Mr Read.
“We have recovered a number of items that warrant further examination, but it will be some time before we receive the results.”
Police have spoken to a number of people who live at the property or who are associated with it.
The inquiry team is also working on information received from the public and completing area inquiries around Darfield.
“The public are still calling in with information, three to four callers a day contact us with good material.”
