ENERGY-MERIDIAN
Blenheim, June 7 - Marlborough man Mike Waldron is fuming after he received his first official contact from Meridian
Energy since he switched to them in June last year.
He spent more than 10 months waiting for a power bill from Meridian before finally switching back to TrustPower in
April this year.
He never received an account from Meridian despite numerous letters and phone calls asking for a bill.
However, the mail he eventually received was not the bill Mr Waldron was expecting, but a letter demanding $696.60 for
unpaid accounts.
Mr Waldron has received only one other letter from Meridian in the year he has been dealing with the company -- an
account for someone else's installation.
Mr Waldron admits he owes Meridian money for the period he was supplied power by the company, but he has no idea how
much until he receives an account.
Meridian spokesman Alan Seay said he would take personal responsibility to make sure the matter was sorted out.
Mr Seay said he would also make sure the Waldrons only paid for the amount of power they had used while connected to
Meridian.
