Books galore will be up for grabs at the Canterbury Public Library legendary book sale beginning on Wednesday 7 June at
9am.
The sale, at the Christchurch Convention Centre, will remain open until 9pm on Wednesday and run from 9am - 3pm on
Thursday 8 June.
More than 40,000 books that have reached the end of their library life will be on offer. They include books that can no
longer withstand the rigors of borrowing, and those that haven't been borrowed for a long time or have been recently
updated. "The variety of books is huge," said Sasha Bowers, the library's Promotions and Publications Co-ordinator.
"It's a great chance to stock up on winter reading, and pick up some real bargains."
Friends of the Library, a voluntary group that helps to promote the library and raise funds, runs the sale.
