LISA'S DOG FOUND
Lisa's Blakie's dog has been found on the west coast just before midday today.
Detective Inspector Rob POPE says Kaos was picked up by police after a call from two members of the public to say he had
been seen running free near Charleston, (near Westport).
"As yet we do not know how he reached there. He still has to be examined, and `formally identified' by the family or
someone who knows him, such as a vet, however our officers are sure it is him from the photo."
The inquiry team is still interested in how Kaos reached there and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen him,
with or without a person.
Mr POPE says the inquiry is sure now that Lisa intended to travel to Greymouth. A bus driver has come forward to say
that she inquired about a bus to Greymouth from outside the Canterbury Tourism building on Oxford Terrace on Tuesday
afternoon but it appears she had missed it.
"There has been a lot of comment on Lisa's supposed intentions but we can now confirm that she intended to travel to
Greymouth. We still do not have sufficient information to decide whether she ever reached there."
"We can also now confirm information that she was seen getting into a vehicle near the Shell Service Station at
Yaldhurst where she was last seen on Wednesday 2 February, however we still have to obtain firmer details on this, as
much as we can."
"We still need as much information as possible about Lisa's movements and we would like to hear from anyone who picked
up a hitchhiker or hitched between Christchurch and Greymouth, either way, between Wednesday and Sunday last week."
Police released photos of the dress Lisa's body was wearing when she was discovered in the Porter River last Sunday
morning. Now it has been opened up it is not as originally described and has probably shrunk.
The dress still has silt on it.
