NAME RELEASED
The name of the young woman whose body was found in the Porter River on Sunday has been released by Christchurch Police.
She was Lisa Ann BLAKIE aged 20 of Timaru.
Lisa had been recently living in Timaru and Christchurch.
Detective Inspector Rob POPE says the public has been calling in with very useful information.
The last confirmed sighting of Lisa was by a taxi driver who dropped her off at the Shell Yaldhurst service station.
This was on Wednesday 2 February at about twenty to twelve, (11.40am).
She had her Labrador/ terrier cross dog, Kaos, with her, as well as various bags.
“We are not sure what she intended to do from here or where she intended to go. There are various options and we are
looking into them all. She may have been heading to a particular place or intended to hitch somewhere. She could have
gone in any direction. Someone may remember giving her a ride or seeing her getting a lift or travelling in vehicle.”
Mr POPE describes Kaos as Lisa’s beloved pet, she’d had for him for only 4 months. There has been no sighting of him
since Wednesday but someone may have seen or found a stray dog and not realise its connection with Lisa. He’s described
as brindle colouring and about half a metre in height.
There are now 25, (not including specialist(s), on the inquiry team, with staff from Timaru assisting Christchurch
detectives with inquiries.
The photograph of Lisa is a fairly recent picture. She was about 5’5” (165cm) tall, small build, (about 60kg), with
shoulder touching dark hair.
The dog in the photo is not Kaos but looks similar.
