The Federation of Industry Training Organisations is very positive about the new Chief Executive of NZQA, Norman Kingsbury.
“Norman brings a wealth and breadth of experience to NZQA that is unrivalled in the tertiary sector. His presence, alongside Dr. Frank Wood, will help convince key stakeholders that NZQA is in good shape,” said Paul Williams, Executive Director of the ITO Federation.
“The ITO Federation has been working closely with NZQA on a number of projects that will assist both NZQA and ITOs to improve the quality of industry-based training,” Mr Williams said.
“NZQA has experienced a real turnaround since the departure of Douglas Blackmuir. It is clear that the new Chair and Board have motivated the staff and developed a clear direction,” he said.
“Norman’s appointment comes at a critical time, NZQA and other agencies, must continue to support ITOs and industry-based training – it is, and will continue, to succeed,” Mr Williams said.
