This morning the Otago University Students' Association (OUSA) Executive voted to rescind their motion of Withdrawal
from the New Zealand University Students’ Association (NZUSA). A majority of the OUSA Executive felt that our concerns
about the financial position of NZUSA had been adequately address in the past few weeks.
‘We look forward to remaining committed and active members of NZUSA.’ Said OUSA President, Steve Day, ‘We are well aware
that OUSA that worked initially to establish NZUSA and that we have been members and supporters of NZUSA since its
inception. We value the representation, advocacy and support NZUSA has provided and will continue to provide. NZUSA is
essential to students as we move towards the general election and we continue to support NZUSA’s efforts to remove
barriers to tertiary education.
