The University of Canterbury Students’ Association (UCSA) confirmed this evening that it left the New Zealand University
Students’Association on July 17.
“It is unfortunate that the UCSA has been unable to retain membership of NZUSA as the UCSA is convinced that national
student representation is vital for the well-being of Canterbury students”, UCSA President Darel Hall said.
“The UCSA will continue to work with other student associations in order to facilitate a vote by Canterbury students on
restoring national representation.
“As a signal of goodwill the UCSA offered its facilities for the September NZUSA Conference scheduled to be hosted by
the Lincoln University Students’ Association. This has been accepted.”
