Christchurch students earned $1.3 million from March to June this year through job placements organised by the student governed Student Job Search.
Job placements in Christchurch are up 15% over the same period last year. Students from the University of Canterbury, Lincoln University, Christchurch Polytechnic, and the Christchurch College of Education jointly govern Student Job Search.
"This is an exceptional result for Christchurch students", said Darel Hall President of the University of Cantrebury Students' Association.
"It demonstrates that students, with the advice of dedicated management and staff, have the ability to govern student orientated services to deliver excellent value to students", Mr Hall says.
