International Youth Exchange Students Lead The way
Rotary’s Emergency Response Kit programme got an unexpected gift of generosity during New Zealand’s National Volunteer Week. Seven International Youth Exchange students in New Zealand for a year determined they wanted to give back to the world community in a tangible way. During recent months, through their own initiatives they raised in excess of $6,000. Spokesperson Stuart Batty said they will never meet the families who will be benefit from their generosity. They can be assured, that, for the recipients of the Emergency Response Kits in Pacific countries, most often, it is the first tangible support they receive following a natural disaster. The New Zealand Rotary programme is about restoring dignity to the underprivileged when they at their most vulnerable. Mr Batty went onto say that this act of kindness is testimony to the fact that it is a privilege for Rotary in New Zealand to host these wonderful young people and bodes well for the future of the world. www.facebook.com/EmergencyResponseKits
