Kids 4 Drama Back In Bay Schools
The Kids 4 Drama group will be returning to Hawke’s Bay primary schools next week with an environmental-themed drama production.
Kids 4 Drama will be visiting 15 Hawke’s Bay schools to present a production about reducing waste and cleaning up our water, land and air.
Starting on Monday, the week long tour will be at 6 Hastings schools, 3 Napier schools and 3 Central Hawke’s Bay schools, with students from other local schools also attending some of the performances.
Kids 4 Drama is a performing arts school and theatre in education production company based in Auckland. Their young actors tour the regions with themed productions for in-school performances to encourage students to consider different aspects of environmental themes.
The productions have been popular with Hawke’s Bay schools for seven years, as they provide school children with an opportunity to see a live performance and think about some of the big issues in their communities.
“It’s great for young audiences to be encouraged into positive environmental action by actors who are a similar age or not much older than them,” says HBRC’s community engagement coordinator, Amelia Morris.
Kids 4 Drama will be in Hawke’s Bay in May with another production, which is already fully booked into 15 more schools.
