Real time job matching available for students
10 April 2013, Wellington. - Students can apply for jobs 24/7 wherever they can access a web browser, thanks to a new computer system to better cater for their needs.
Student Job Search CEO Paul Kennedy says the system and processes designed by Wellington-based IT services firm FINNZ has improved the match making ability of the service for the benefit of both employers and students.
“Students’ don’t have 9 to 5 lives. They need to be able to apply for jobs when it suits them, fitting around study, lectures, other work and their social lives. This system means they can apply for available positions at any time, from anywhere. They are also automatically notified about jobs that meet their requirements, which saves time.
“The system also gives more control over the jobs they advertise. They can change details about the position, as they need to. It’s about giving more control to the users of our service and providing a better experience for them,” he says.
Mr Kennedy says Student Job Search chose FINNZ for the project and solution because of their collaborative approach.
“FINNZ knew how to design a system that would deliver a high quality customer service above all else. They understood the operational side of things so they could be realistic about what we needed to produce, they could challenge us around ideas and identify what was important,” he says.
Mr Kennedy says the new system that was sourced from the market offers services that are more tailored for both employers and students and more communications tools.
“Students are technologically savvy so we need to make sure our systems meet their needs and expectations. This system keeps us ahead of the game and ensures we deliver them what they need, when and how they want it.”
