Search On For Sovereign Superstars
The search is on once again to find the very best young tennis players to take part in Sovereign Superstars for 2009
with the North Island Primary and Intermediate Schools championships in Waikato serving as a qualifying tournament this
week.
The concept offers children a once in a lifetime ‘money can’t buy’experience at the Heineken Open in Auckland in mid
January next year, New Zealand’s professional men’s tennis tournament.
The experience features all the trimmings of life as a professional tennis player, including matches on centre court
live on television, hotel accommodation, flights to and from the tournament and VIP transport to the venue each match
day.
Sovereign Head of Marketing and Product Management Vena Crawley explains Sovereign’s support of the Superstars concept.
“Sovereign Superstars provides a genuine money can’t buy experience for the children, one that will stay with them and
their parents for a lifetime,”said Crawley.
“On top of that for any of the children that go on to play tennis professionally, this can only help in their
development and understanding of the commitment required to succeed. However, this is primarily about rewarding children
and families who are active and making efforts to live a healthy lifestyle.”
The best 2 children (boy and girl) from each of the three regions (South Island, Waikato Bays/Central,
Auckland/Northern) at their respective South and North Island Primary and Intermediate School tournaments will book
their tickets for Sovereign Superstars in January.
Those qualifying tournaments are held this week, with the North Island at the ASB Waikato Tennis Centre on Thursday 4th
December and Friday 5th December.
