Primary school touch tournament in Maraenui
As part of the Maraenui events committee initiative made up of a group of agencies, local organisations and community groups, the purpose of which is to generate a strong sense of community pride and togetherness among the Maraenui community.
The Maraenui Community Police are hosting a local Primary School Touch Tournament tomorrow at Maraenui Sports Club grounds.
The tournament will involve six primary schools that are within the circumference of the Maraenui boundary, Maraenui Bilingual, Richmond, Te Ara Hou, Henry Hill, Marewa and Te Awa schools.
The local Police are using the events to promote a positive image of the Police and in partnership with Maraenui Urban Renewal Trust will be providing lunch, drinks and fruit.
Sports Hawkes Bay and the Maraenui Sports Club will be proving assistance in running of the event and the schools will provide two teams each and the tournament will start at 10.00am and finish at 2.00pm.
