Official Announcement: Craccum Comedy

Hello all,
We would like to introduce ourselves as Heidi O'Loughlin and Rachael McKinnon, the new Comedy Editors at Craccum student magazine. We are proud to announce the first publication of the new 'Comedy Section' which will be devoted to encouraging students to immerse themselves in the comedy New Zealand has to offer, and will appear in the magazine as of August 11. This is a brand new direction for Craccum which up until now has included comedy under the theatre banner and only with a minimal focus on it during festival season. This has meant comedy has often gone under the radar of student culture.
The comedy section will be a weekly feature of the magazine and is going to include such things as interviews, articles, reviews of live shows and comedy films, television series and DVDs. This will all be accompanied by regular promotional updates and a weekly gig guide of live comedy to check out in the Auckland area.
We believe this section will be injecting a much needed element of good-spirited humour to Craccum which reflects the nature of the flourishing New Zealand comedy scene.
Craccum is the most widely distributed and read student magazine in New Zealand with a pick-up of approximately 10,000-12,000 issues per week – and is unofficially the most read text in any lecture theatre at the University of Auckland!
We are interested in hearing from anyone who has a comedy gig or show that they believe will benefit from the presence of a student audience. We also wish to hear from anyone who wants publicity for any form of comedy media whether through interview, feature article or review.
We would like to thank everyone who has thus far given us their support. Feel free to pass on our details to anyone you think may be interested in what we have to offer.
We look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
