Seventy Students Confess All
Visitors to UCOL’s Open Day this Wednesday 6 August will be looked after by 70 student ambassadors who will give them the inside story on studying at UCOL.
The theme of the Open Day; ‘Confessions of a UCOL Student’, will encourage current students to tell all about their experiences studying at UCOL.
Students from each programme will be on hand in bright green ambassador t-shirts to talk to visitors.
Organiser Shirley Wall, UCOL Promotions and Events Coordinator, says that people who are thinking about study always have lots of questions about UCOL, and about student life.
“We want people to be confident that they have the right programme for their goals. But it’s not just about what happens in the classroom; people want to know about the whole experience – what social life is like on campus, how much work there is, how much fun it’s going to be, whether students have a sense of confidence and satisfaction from what they are learning.
“The best way for prospective students to see what UCOL’s all about is to come along, get an introductory taste of our courses, and talk to our students and academic staff.”
Shirley says many programmes will offer activities and tours throughout the day, and visitors will have a chance to talk with programme leaders. “Anyone thinking about study should come along. This is the perfect opportunity to get a taste of what study is all about.”
Shirley says that as well as lunchtime entertainment from UCOL Performing Arts students there will be performances by students from Awatapu College, Palmerston North Boys High School and Longburn Adventist College.
