New Zealander wins major MBA scholarship to study in UK
Scott Riddle, has won a scholarship worth almost $100,000 to study on a prestigious MBA programme at Cranfield School of
Management in the UK. The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the one-year Cranfield MBA course, return airfare,
and a contribution toward living expenses.
Scott is currently Senior Market Development Manager with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise in Sydney and has degrees in
law and commerce from Victoria University of Wellington. He was awarded the scholarship following a competitive
application process. "This is an amazing and very generous opportunity to study at a leading international business
school. The knowledge, skills and networks it affords me will be invaluable upon my return to New Zealand," said Scott.
The Cranfield New Zealand Alumni Scholarship is funded by Cranfield alumni and the NZ-UK Link Foundation, and supported
by the New Zealand Institute of Management (NZIM). "NZIM's support for this outstanding learning opportunity at
Cranfield reflects our unconditional and wide-ranging commitment to building management and leadership capability in New
Zealand," said NZIM Chief Executive David Chapman. "New Zealand must build leaders and managers with global vision and
global experiences if we are to be successful in meeting the challenges that an increasingly global marketplace
presents. And I have no doubt that the Cranfield programme will provide Scott with just kind of vision and experience".
Professor Michael Osbaldeston, Director of Cranfield School of Management, said: "Cranfield is distinguished among

of over 11,000 alumni in 120 countries worldwide. This scholarship is testament to the hard work and commitment of our
New Zealand alumni."
This is the second year that the scholarship has been offered. Last year's scholar, Adrian Wood, an insurance area
manager from Southland, will be completing his MBA course this September. The scholarship will be offered again in 2009.
