100 per cent pass rate for Nursing students
Final year nursing students at UCOL Wairarapa have had a 100 per cent pass rate in state nursing examinations.
UCOL’s Programme Coordinator in the Wairarapa Stephenie Orchard says all 16 third year students sat the Nursing Council of New Zealand State Final examinations in November – and all passed with flying colours.
“We’re really thrilled!” she says. “It’s the second year in a row that we have had a 100 per cent pass rate. That’s a tribute to the hard work and commitment of our students and of course to the quality and dedication of our lecturing staff at UCOL Wairarapa.”
The new nurses will graduate with a Bachelor of Nursing qualification in ceremonies in Masterton in April and are now registered nurses.
Stephenie says all 16 graduates have already found positions in the health sector. “As usual, our graduates have been snapped up. One of our new graduates is working in Australia and another in Nelson. The others have all found positions locally, adding further to the quality of health care in the Wairarapa.”
The Bachelor of Nursing is a full time, three year course of study. Further information can be obtained by phoning UCOL on 06 946 2300.
