Collaboration Theme For Conference
Collaboration is the theme of the International Education Association’s (ISANA) New Zealand conference to be held at
Victoria University of Wellington this week.
ISANA’s New Zealand branch annual conference will be held at Victoria’s Pipitea Campus in downtown Wellington on
Thursday (31 August) and Friday (1 September) and will be addressed by the Minister for Tertiary Education, the Hon Dr
Michael Cullen, and Dr Shanton Chang, of the University of Melbourne.
New Zealand President, Sylvia Hooker, says ISANA is the non-profit association of professionals working in international
education throughout New Zealand and Australia.
“The NZ branch is involved in encouraging professional standards, research, and best practice amongst its members at the
tertiary, secondary and private educational institutes. This conference and its theme of ‘Collaboration in a changing
market – pulling together and keeping sane’, will contribute towards this work.”
Throughout the conference, plenaries and keynotes will address a range of best practices and information for those
involved in international education
Preceding the conference, a day focussed on professional development looking at supporting international student safety,
admissions, and students from Islamic backgrounds, will set the tone.
