Introducing Egerton Pen Pal Group
What do children in other lands look like? What do they eat? Where do they go to school? What do they wear? What do they like to play? All these questions are fun to find out - and the very best way to do that is to have a pen friend.
A pen friend is a friend from another country who you talk by by pen - in letters or emails! Of course, you won't be friends straightaway, you'll need to get to know each other first, but it won't take long - especially if you can send some photographs to each other too.
Having a friend by post takes patience. It sometimes seems a very long time before the next letter arrives, but it's usually well worth it when it does come. You have to remember to take it in turns to write, too. It's no fun spending time writing out all your questions and describing what's been happening to you, if you don't get a reply!
A friendship with a pen friend can sometimes last a life time, and who knows, you may even be lucky enough to meet up one day. If you'd like to have a friend by post or email you are in the right place!
I help the learners at our school and some past pupils who are now in High School to find pen pals - pupils’ world wide in Pre-Primary through High School are welcome to join our group - the more the merrier!!!
