Fresh start for NZQA
"The resignation of NZQA Chief Executive Karen van Rooyen gives NZQA a chance at a fresh start", said Darel Hall
Executive Director of the Industry Training Federation.
A well performing NZQA is critical to Industry Training Organisations as they strive to reduce skill shortages and meet
the goal of 250,000 Industry trainees by 2007.
"The resignation of Karen van Rooyen and Board chair Graeme Fraser should put a line under recent events. The Acting
leadership should now focus staff back on their core roles, fixing problems, and providing solutions that support a
future of a quality and relevance driven tertiary system", Darel Hall said.

Formed in 1996, the Industry Training Federation (ITF) is a membership-based organisation representing all 41 Industry
Training Organisations (ITOs). The ITF advocates on behalf of its member ITOs to government and works with agencies and
sector groups to improve the policy for and delivery of Industry Training.
