NZQA Board review
The Board of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority today confirmed its intention to undertake an internal review of processes relating to 2004 New Zealand Scholarship.
The review will be separate from, but complementary to, the reviews underway by both the Hon David Benson-Pope and the State Services Commission.
Following the Board meeting late last week, Board chairman Professor Graeme Fraser said the Qualifications Authority was committed to working closely and constructively with the external reviews, to ensure the best possible results for the learners of New Zealand.
"The Board's own review will focus on matters relating to operational and governance best practice, particularly in light of the Board's new responsibilities under the recently enacted Crown Entities Act.
"We have set a four to six weeks timeframe for this review and we intend to act responsibly and effectively on its findings, in consultation with Government and our partner education agencies."
