NZEI Delighted Acquitted Teacher Has His Job Back
NZEI Te Riu Roa is delighted that Levin school teacher, Mike Neville, has his job back following his acquittal a month ago.
“Mike is a member of NZEI Te Riu Roa and the union has supported him throughout his ordeal, which began 19 months ago when accusations were made against him,” says NZEI Te Riu Roa National President, Colin Tarr.
“The information the union had from the outset of the case made it clear he was innocent of the charges.”
“We welcomed his acquittal and now we welcome the news that he will be returning to the classroom at the school where he has taught since 1995.”
“The school’s community is fortunate to have a teacher who is as dedicated and hard working as Mike.”
“We hope his return to the classroom is a smooth one and that he is allowed to put the events of the last 19 months behind him and resume a career he remains committed to pursuing,” says Colin Tarr.
