South Pacific Teams Gather For Mooting

SOUTH PACIFIC TEAMS GATHER FOR MOOTING
Top academic brains will be arguing the toss over intellectual property and equitable ownership issues regarding indigenous arts in Hamilton from Sunday 26 September.
Waikato University is hosting the annual South Pacific Mooting Competition. Mooting involves teams arguing on points of law.
The other universities competing are: University of the South Pacific Vanuatu , University of Papua New Guinea and the Queensland University of Technology.
The preliminary rounds begin Sunday 10am in LAWG03 at the university. On Monday, the preliminary rounds will be held in IG02. The finals will then be held in the Maori Land Court on Tuesday 28 September at 4pm.
The competition is sponsored by the Waikato University School of Law, Kahui Legal, McCaw Lewis Chapman, Tohu Wines, Waikato University Rec Centre, Te Taura here o Ngati Porou ki Waikato Inc and Te Whakahiapo.
