HALL PROGRAMME OFFERS HEAPS OF FUN IN THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
The holidays are coming around again, along with the dilemma of how to keep your children engaged in productive activities during this time. Manukau on the Move once again has a diverse, exciting programme to keep youngsters happy and occupied.
Manukau on the Move, Manukau City Council's leisure innovators, offer a Hall programme for 5 - 12 year olds which is basically about having fun. There will be a huge range of enjoyable and affordable activities to keep youngsters entertained during the week 27 Sept - 1 October.
Programme Co-ordinator, Keryn Dudley, says, "This exciting Hall Programme will inspire children and give them interesting activities to expend their energy as the days get warmer. Beginning on Monday 27 September they can develop their artistic skills at Beachlands Hall with 'Crazy Creations', art and design programme.
On Tuesday, again at the Maraetai Hall, youngsters can participate in their own 'Mini Olympics' with a variety of Top Town activities and sports games. Wednesday is a day for those looking for adventure. Beachlands Hall will be the meeting place before children set off on a 'Botanical Gardens' experience of bush treasure hunt, sports games and sail boat racing.
Another day of fun will unfold at Maraetai Hall on Thursday, as 'Rex and Splash' Manukau City Council mascots, come to visit and create mayhem. Be there or be square. Finally to cap off the week on Friday, dress up as 'Pirates and Princesses' and take part in a treasure hunt and craft day at the Maraetai Hall."
Programmes run from 10am - 3pm daily. Cost for the whole week's programme is $90, or pay a daily rate of $15, with the Botanical Gardens Wednesday activity, $30. The pick up and drop off point for Wednesday's activity is the Beachland's Hall. For all other events meet at the venues listed above.
