International Education Excellence Awards: Finalists Announced
‘International education in New Zealand is in good heart, going by the excellence displayed across the industry by the
finalists in the International Education Excellence Awards’ says Robert Stevens, Chief Executive of Education New
Zealand. ‘The quality, commitment and innovation displayed by these finalists is a testament to just how dedicated our
institutions are to providing superior service to their students’.
The International Education Excellence Awards were instituted last year in response to a growing necessity to showcase
good practice and demonstrate just how well our institutions are responding to the global marketplace. The Awards this
year are the first to be presented, and mark the culmination of an extensive nomination and judging process designed to
reward excellence across the industry.
‘The finalists in the seven categories come from across the country, and across all sectors of the industry’ says Robert
Stevens. ‘It is proof positive that quality is not confined to any one part of the industry, but is widespread. Good
operators are good operators, no matter whether they are large or small, state or private, big city or provincial.’
‘It is high time the achievements of our leading institutions were acknowledged and celebrated’ says Robert Stevens.
‘These Awards are one part of this process. They have been well supported by industry, and support what we have known
all along – that New Zealand is second to none when it comes to providing a world class education for the students in
today’s global education marketplace’.
The Winners will be announced by the Hon. Steve Maharey on Thursday 19th August at the Education New Zealand
International Education Conference in Auckland.
