New Professor of Accounting Joins AUT
Adjunct Professor of Accounting, Business Faculty Professor Sue Llewellyn
A leading researcher from the University of Leicester (UK) with an international reputation for her work in management
accounting and organisational change, specifically within health, has joined AUT’s Business Faculty as an Adjunct
Professor.
Sue Llewellyn will visit AUT for one month each year, arriving for her first term on 30th August 2004. Prof Llewellyn is
Professor of Management Control at the University of Leicester (UK), which she recently joined after thirteen years at
the University of Edinburgh. She has also held Visiting Professor positions at Queens University (Canada), The
University of Linkoping (Sweden) and the Universities of Adelaide and Sydney.
Prof Llewellyn has an international reputation as a leading researcher in financial and performance management and
organisational change. She has published in elite international journals including Accounting, Organizations and
Society, Organisation Studies, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal and Journal of Management Studies and is
frequently invited to speak at international conferences and academic seminars. Prof Llewellyn has also been recognised
for her leading research in health care management via her appointment as the only academic member of a committee set up
to advise on management and decision-making in the Scottish National Health Service, and via her foundation membership
of the Scottish Academy - a new government sponsored initiative to ensure that health care policy development is
informed by high quality research.
While at AUT, Prof Llewellyn will contribute to postgraduate teaching and will carry out research projects and
development with Business Faculty staff. Her research while in New Zealand will focus on health costing and performance
management and will draw on her UK experience and expertise.
