Twelve $1,000 Study Grants Awarded at Coca-Cola Careers Expo
Twelve students will each receive a $1000 study grant after being randomly selected in a draw at this year's Coca-Cola Careers Expo, in Christchurch.
The study grants will be presented at a ceremony held at the Canterbury Innovation Incubator, 200 Armagh Street, Christchurch on Thursday 10 June, commencing at 5.00pm. The grants were donated by the Canterbury Careers Expo Trust, Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd., and the Canterbury Development Corporation.
The award-winning students were drawn from a list of attendees at the Coca-Cola Careers Expo, which was held in Christchurch on May 16 - 18.
2004 brought a new dimension to the Coca-Cola Careers Expo, combining the collective support of Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd, Canterbury Careers Expo Trust, Canterbury Development Corporation and Careers Services. The Expo provided a forum for secondary students to explore a range of tertiary and career options, with the aim of assisting them in making successful transitions from school to meaningful work or further study.
Approximately 12,500 people, including students from as far as Timaru, Ashburton and the West Coast, visited the three-day Coca-Cola Careers Expo.
Over 1,200 of the students were planning to undertake tertiary study and were eligible to enter the study grant draw. The twelve recipients of the $1000 study grants are:

3 Annaka Dunne - Burnside High School
4 Jane Nuttridge - Cashmere High School
5 Belinda Patton - Christchurch Girls High School
6 Amanda Toth - Hillmorton High School
7 Anneliese Manu - Hornby High School
8 Georgina Fahey - Rangiora High School
9 Todd Lambie - St Bedes College
10 Lauren Webb - Villa Maria College
11 Sam Reese - Correspondence School 12 Donovan Crase - Spherion Education
Christchurch was the first stop in the Expo's 14th Annual Tour, which will see it visit Auckland (10 - 13 August), Wellington (18 - 19 August) and Dunedin (2 - 3 September).
