WINNERS IN HOSPITALITY TRAINING AWARDS
The winners of the Excellence In Training Awards were announced by Michael Friend, Chairman of the Board of the Hospitality Standards Institute (HSI) at an awards dinner at the Sheraton, Auckland tonight.
Overall Supreme Award winners for Excellence in Training in the hospitality industry were the Accor Hotel Group.
In 2001, Accor, the largest hotel and tourism group in the world, launched Academie Accor in New Zealand, an in-hotel training establishment aiming to set new benchmarks in hospitality training.
The Academie Accor is open to anyone wishing to train in hospitality, as well as those already working the industry who wish to develop their skills further.
Academie Accor provides participants with the opportunity of hands-on experience and the potential for placement at one of Accor’s 100+ hotels and resorts around Australia and New Zealand.
Michael Friend says “the opening of Academie Accor as a workplace training facility in New Zealand has been a fantastic thing for the country. Not only has the group brought its international training expertise to New Zealand for the benefit of its staff, but it also embodies the spirit of the Industry Training Act by enabling employees in the industry to gain qualifications while at work.”
