The Bill Jones Scholarship Awarded by Bill Jones This scholarship was established to support students to further their studies in Motor Industry related programmes at WelTec. The scholarship is named in honour of former staff member Bill Jones, who dedicated 34 years to the mechanical engineering and motor industry sectors of the Polytechnic. Applicants are considered on their academic achievement, attendance, comments from workplace employers, and attitude.

Ivan Fisk Memorial Scholarship Awarded by Steve Harris, Deputy Chairperson, Apprentice Training NZ & Competenz Councillor. This scholarship is awarded to students to advance their career in Manufacturing or Metal Engineering at diploma or degree level. It is offered in recognition of the commitment and dedication of the late Ivan Fisk in his efforts to help young New Zealanders complete engineering apprenticeships and advance their careers to higher national qualifications.

WRAG is a charitable trust whose sole purpose is to provide high quality, affordable apprenticeship training to employers and their apprentices.
