Top marks for Open Polytechnic student
Open Polytechnic student Lesley Nielsen has been named top graduate in the New Zealand Law Society Legal Executive Certificate programme.
Lesley, a Legal Executive at Lewis' Barristers & Solicitors in Cambridge, achieved the highest total mark for the six Certificate courses of the 135 students graduating this year.
Results of the 2002 Certificate exams just released show Open Polytechnic students gained top marks in three out of the six national exams, with another student receiving joint top mark. Two of the students came from Auckland, with the others from Christchurch and Gisborne. Each top student receives $150 prize from the New Zealand Law Society.
The results mirror the excellent performance of Open Polytechnic students in previous years. Last year another Open Polytechnic student was named top graduate in the programme.
The Open Polytechnic is one of nine providers that offer the Legal Executive Certificate, which is administered and examined by the New Zealand Law Society.
